Alejandro J. Beasley Jr. was behind the wheel of a 2009 Volkswagen Passat headed north on River Road just after 4:30 a.m. Sunday when it “suddenly drove off the roadway and violently crashed into a tree,” Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said.

He and his sister, Ariana K. Beasley of New York City, were taken to Hackensack University Medical Center — she with internal injuries to her spleen and kidneys, the prosecutor said.

Alejandro Beasley, who also sustained internal injuries, remains hospitalized, as well, with a $25,000 cash bail pending a Municipal Court hearing in Teaneck.

The charges followed an investigation by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Fatal Accident Investigation Unit (FAIU), Teaneck Police and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
