Abramowitz, who went to Norwood police headquarters with his lawyer today to be charged with the third-degree crime, remains free pending a Municipal Court appearance later this month
and a determination by a grand jury in Hackensack whether he should be tried on the charges, including attempted murder, CLIFFVIEW PILOT has learned.
He is living with his parents in Cresskill, free on $850,000 bail and under a judge’s order that he not go near his wife or children.
As a matter of policy, CLIFFVIEWPILOT.COM ordinarily doesn’t report domestic cases, so as to protect the children involved. However, this particular incident became common knowledge after the Bergen Record published a story about the alleged attack on Pamela Abramowitz, a Norwood School Board member who has since said she is not seeking re-election this year.
