Maywood police issue images of woman in TD Bank robbery

ANOTHER CVP SCOOP: Maywood police early this evening released surveillance images of a suspected woman who robbed a Maywood bank of an estimated $1,200 in cash earlier this afternoon.

The robber entered the TD branch at 560 Maywood Avenue around 1:40 p.m. and handed the teller a note announcing a holdup, Maywood Police Chief David Pegg told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

The robber, believed to be a woman, was described as black, in her mid-30s, and wearing a black leather coat, grey cap, black gloves and silver boots. Witnesses said she’s 5’5 – 5’7, with a thick build and medium-length black hair.

The bandit apparently got into a red, late model vehicle — possibly a Toyota, the chief said.

Maywood Police and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Bureau of Criminal Identification were conducting interviews and processing the scene for evidence this afternoon.
