Acting on information developed by borough Officer Kevin Madden, Maywood police, Bergen County Sheriff’s officers and agents from ICE and the Drug Enforcement Agency hit the house at 5:30 a.m. Oct. 24 following a series of undercover buys, borough police said today.

Miguel T. Brito, 54, and Altagracia Montilla 50, and a juvenile were taken into custody, Detective Richard Brown said.

Brito and Montillo each posted $30,000 bail and were released from the Bergen County Jail within hours.

Police officially released the information today following further investigation after last month’s raid. CLIFFVIEW PILOT agreed to withhold publication while the probe was pending.

County prosecutors were presenting the case to a grand jury in Hackensack for indictment.

The arrests came a day after a Haitian immigrant from Spring Valley was arrested with $4,500 in cash and charged with marijuana distribution, hindering apprehension and financial facilitation.

Guerdy Mauricette 24, used a fraudulent passport to identify himself, bringing additional charges of exhibiting a false document, possession of false document and wrongful impersonation after an investigation with the New Jersey MVC Fraud Unit, borough police said.

He remained free on $10,000 bail.
