Matthew Chaseman, 46, is charged with two counts of attempting to cause bodily injury to the two officers who found him after he'd crashed his car outside a Route 17 building that houses the Bergen County Office of Social Services on Dec. 14.
He also was charged with weapons possession for a BB gun that former Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said had its orange tip painted black.
Chaseman had crashed his car and remained inside the vehciel when security at the building off the northbound highway called police just before 3:30 a.m., authorities said at the time
Two responding officers struck him with shots in the foot, they said.
