Meanwhile, his lawyer said he'll seek a reduction of the $1 million bail for Bryan Brent Calcott, 36.
According to prosecutors, Calcott arrived at Teterboro on a chartered flight from Oakland with two suspicious large boxes on Dec. 12, 2012.
Port Authority police released him after an interview, then obtained a search warrant through the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office and said they found the boxes containing 109 packages of pot.
Calcott left New Jersey, and was declared a fugitive by law enforcement.
Defense lawyer Brian Neary contended that Calcott "was not arrested and wasn’t told he couldn’t leave. You can’t be a fugitive if you don’t know you’re running.”
He entered a not-guilty plea on his client's behalf and said he'll ask the judge to suppress the warrant and reduce the bail.
“There may be an informant creeping around here, too,” Neary said.
Calcott was arrested in Colorado and later returned to New Jersey.
He's due back in court for Nov. 16.
