Police were called around 4 a.m. by a staffer at HackensackUMC in Westwood.

A Harrington Park woman in her 20s was brought in by her boyfriend after she was punched, knocked to the ground and kicked several times at a party that drew 40-50 people to the area known as the Goat Farm.

“During an interview with  her boyfriend Mahwah investigators learned that another individual might have been stabbed during the [brawl],” Police Chief James Batelli said this morning.

That man, a Maywood resident also in his 20s, said he tried to intervene when a fight broke out and he was knocked to the ground.

“He was able to flee to his truck and fled the area but not before apparently being stabbed multiple times in the leg,” Batelli said.

The man drove home and later was taken to a local hospital with knife wounds, the chief said.

“Investigators are continuing to work to identify those individuals who were involved,” he said.

Handling the investigation are Detective Kevin Hebert, Sgt. Michael Blondin and Officer Daniel Stewart.
