Gabriel E. Arias, 27, pleaded guilty to a restraint charge in Superior Court in Hackensack on Friday after prosecutors agreed to drop counts of aggravated assault and giving false information to police.

The 6-foot-2-inch, 180-pound Arias was on probation in connection with a 2010 incident involving an assault and fleeing police in Bergenfield when the incident happened in Lodi last July 28.

On Friday, Arias admitted holding the victim against her will during a fight and then assaulting her when it escalated.

Superior Court Judge Patrick Roma accepted the plea.
