The driver told police he was stopped at a light at South Wood Avenue and Morris Avenue in Linden around 4:45 a.m. when a dark-skinned gunman wearing a leather jacket, hooded sweatshirt and black Army pants ordered him out of the truck and then hit him in the head.

The driver said he saw a second dark-skinned man — dressed in a green jacket, blue jeans, and tan boots — enter the passenger side of the tan Ford F-250 pickup, Linden Police Capt. James Sarnicki said.

Both then drove off on East Linden Avenue towards Elizabeth, Sarnicki said.

The license plate of the Hackensack-based company’s stolen truck is XW8532, he said.

The victim was treated at the scene by the Linden Fire Department ambulance squad, Sarnicki said.
