The Celebrity Carpet Company employee told police that Luis Larios, 26, of 40th Street, hit him with a closed fist in the back of the head following an argument last July.

Police responding to the Commercial Avenue business found the unconscious man with head and facial injuries, Chief Thomas Nielsen said at the time. He also had convulsions and memory loss, the chief said.

They arrested Larios two days later.

He has remained free on $25,000 bail since July 12, a day after his arrest.

The indictment returned yesterday charges him with “attempted or actual serious bodily injury to [the victim] under circumstances manifesting extreme indifference to the value of human life” and “recklessly caused serious bodily injury.”
