An indictment returned by a grand jury in Hackensack also charges Xhonero Shehu and Justin Glazer, both 19, with giving the victim $113.30 in counterfeit cash.

Both are charged with having the Marksman .177-caliber BB gun that police said Glazer (above, left) hit the 61-year-old owner of Nice Food in Garfield in the head with when he showed up with an order of alcohol and soda last Aug. 27.

The deliveryman, who spoke only Mandarin, hit the gas when the pair tried to rob him, sending his car bouncing off three others.

With him in the 2010 Toyota was his 17-year-old son, who told police what happened.

When his father gave the counterfeit bills back to them, he said, one of the robbers pulled out a small handgun and hit the older man in the head.

“At that moment, [he] stepped on the accelerator in an attempt to flee … and crashed his car into the 3 nearby parked vehicles on the roadway, causing minimal damage,” Deputy Police Chief Robert White said at the time.

Glazer was released on $100,000 bail nearly three weeks after the arrests and Shehu (above, right) on $50,000 bail eight days after.

Charged separately with hindering the investigation was Lakhwinder Singh, whose phone was used to place the delivery call, police said at the time.

Saddle Brook police worked with the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office’s Computer Criminal Division and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department Bureau of Criminal Identification to solve the case.

Saddle Brook Detective Capts. Vincent Laurentino and James Galbo and Detective Sgt. Thomas Johnson took “quick and decisive actions [that] led to the development of pertinent information” that cracked the case, said White, the deputy chief.
