ID thief arrested after returning stolen BMW to Tenafly dealer for service, authorities say

Now local and federal investigators are looking into similar crimes elsewhere that might be linked to him.

Dramion Coombs was carrying personal identifying information for no fewer than 10 people when Tenafly police arrested him late last summer, an indictment returned by a grand jury in Hackensack earlier this week alleges.

Coombs conspired with a female accomplice to use another woman’s identity to buy the 2013 sedan, which sources said sold for nearly $100,000 retail at DeFeo BMW in mid-August, according to the indictment.

He was arrested a little over two weeks later on charges of trafficking in personal identification and conspiracy when he returned to the dealership with a mechanical issue, authorities said.
