A medical helicopter was cancelled as police in towns along the way stopped traffic to clear a path for the ambulance to the hospital from the corner of Hillsdale Avenue and Beech Street just before 7:30 p.m.
The male 40-something driver of the Ford F-150 remained at the scene after the Pascack Valley High School junior was struck, witnesses said.
Hillsdale police and EMS workers responded.
Hillsdale police said information would be released through their Traffic Bureau.
