Hillsdale officer catches suspended driver making illegal turn

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A motorist spotted making an illegal turn by a Hillsdale patrolman was driving while on the suspended list — with two outstanding warrants for previous traffic violations, police said this morning.

Officer Alex Kaplan was on patrol on Broadway Sunday afternoon when he said he saw 29-year-old Marco Calle make an illegal left onto Washington Avenue.

Kaplan pulled Calle over in a borough public parking lot, then did a check on his Seattle, WA driver’s license, Officer William Dietrich said today.

Calle, who came east from Bellevue, WA, had warrants out of Hackensack and South Hackensack for not settling traffic tickets, records show.

Kaplan arrested Calle, who posted bail on the warrants and was issued a summons for driving while suspended and making an illegal turn.
