Hasbrouck Heights detectives arrest Maywood man with 150 bags of heroin behind Route 17 hotel

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: Hasbrouck Heights detectives working a drug investigation with the help of Cresskill police arrested a Maywood man who they said was carrying 150 bags of heroin.

Investigators stopped Kevin Ascencio, 25, in his car behind the Holiday Inn on Route 17 and charged him with possession of the heroin in a school zone with the intent to distribute it and possession of drug paraphernalia.

They also gave him a trio of summonses for having a brake light out, not inspecting his car and having drugs in a motor vehicle.

A Bergen County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit also responded.

Ascencio was being held on $150,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail.

It marked the 30th arrest the past two months for the Hasbrouck Heights Police Detective Squad.
