Jillian Mendoza, 19, of Ridgefield Park gave her boyfriend $1,800 in change that he wasn’t entitled to during no fewer than five separate small purchases, Detective Capt. Thomas Salcedo told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

A security guard interrupted them just before 6 o’clock last night and 23-year-old Alexander Ramos of Englewood pushed his way past.

The 5-foot-6-inch, 156-pound Ramos was being held on $10,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with robbery.

Mendoza was charged with theft and released on summons pending a Municipal Court hearing.
