Hackensack police seize Englewood boy, 16, in attempted mugging

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A pair of Hackensack police officers grabbed a 16-year-old Englewood boy after he beat another teen in an attempted strong-armed robbery last night, authorities said.

The assailant demanded money while punching and kicking the 16-year-old victim at the back door of his Clay Street home just after 7 p.m., Capt. Timothy Lloyd told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

The victim had none and his attacker fled, Lloyd said.

Responding Officers James Han and Frankie Garrett grabbed the teen in the area and signed a juvenile complaint against him for robbery.

He was taken to the Bergen County Juvenile Detention Center in Teterboro.
