Little Ferry uniformed officers supported the city investigators who grabbed 25-year-old Martin Perfilio at his Valley Road destination, Detective Capt. Thomas Salcedo told CLIFFVIEW PILOT. Perfilio gave police a Clifton address, he said.

“We had been following him for awhile until he reached his destination,” the captain said. “This was a two-month investigation.”

The pot was bundled into bricks in a dozen plastic bags, he said.

Also arrested were a couple who Salcedo said accepted the delivery, neither of them from Little Ferry.

Ian Brown, 26, of Severna Park, Md. — roughly 10 miles north of Annapolis — is charged marijuana possession.

Tracy Nix, 22, of Preston Hollow, N.Y. — just outside Albany — was charged with possession of pot and drug paraphernalia.

Perfilio, meanwhile, is charged with possession with the intent of selling the drug.

Salcedo said the pot hadn’t been tested yet to determine its potency — a find that could end up increasing its potential street value, and potential penalties if the defendants are convicted.
