Hackensack police charge Little Ferry man with grabbing officer’s gun in ambulance

ONLY ON CVP: A drunken Little Ferry man who was being taken to the hospital in an ambulance grabbed a Hackensack police officer’s service weapon but was subdued before he could get it from the holster, authorities told CLIFFVIEW PILOT today.

Carlos Eddie Bonilla, 34, posted $20,000 bail and was released from the Bergen County Jail last Wednesday, two days after the incident, records obtained from the jail indicate.

He is officially charged with trying to disarm a law enforcement officer.

Bonilla “was being transported to Hackensack University Medical Center by ambulance for being highly intoxicated when the officer attempted to assist an EMT and he grabbed the officer’s gun,” Detective Capt. Thomas Salcedo told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.
