Investigators from the special squad, which joins sheriff’s detectives with their counterparts from Hackensack and other towns, spotted both men at the Riverside Square Mall after being alerted by employees at Saks, Saudino said.

They moved in after one of the two “removed an item from under his shirt and threw it in a bush near the store” off Route 4 in Hackensack, the sheriff said this afternoon.

Given permission to search their car, the detectives found a trove of clothing reported stolen from Saks, Nieman Marcus, Nordstrom and Century 21, he said.

They arrested Dejan Marjanovic, 43 (above, left), and 37-year-old Alexander Golen (above, right), both of 281 Park St.

Marjanovic and Golen were being held on $10,000 each in the Bergen County Jail.

Both are charged with shoplifting, as well as with possession of burglary tools — the diapers.
