Ferraioli, 47, of Paramus, is charged with official misconduct, aggravated assault and falsifying police records, the prosecutor confirmed.

“The investigation is continuing,” Molinelli said, “and further charges against others are expected.”

The incident happened on June 7, when Ferraioli and other unidentified officers went to the home of Andrew Milberg, the prosecutor said. During the arrest, Ferraioli bashed Milberg in the head, sending him to the hospital with an ear injury later that night, he said.

Ferraioli then “filed a police report containing false information,” Molinelli said.
