Hackensack man, 61, charged in child sex crime

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A married 61-year-old housekeeper who works at a Cresskill assisted living center was arrested this week and charged with a sex-related crime involving an 11-year-old girl in Hackensack late last October.

Joseph Patrick Jones of Central Avenue in Hackensack is being held on $100,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with second-degree sexual assault and child endangerment.

He has a court date next Wednesday.

Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli and Officer-in-Charge Capt. Tomas Padilla of the Hackensack Police Department said their officers arrested Jones on Wednesday after learning that he “engaged in inappropriate sexual conduct on one occasion with a juvenile female acquaintance in Hackensack.”

Her mother called city police, who contacted investigators with Molinelli’s Special Victims Unit, they said..
