Hackensack illegal immigrant offered 20 years in alleged rapes of Moonachie girl

ONLY ON CVP: Prosecutors have offered an illegal Ecuadoran immigrant from Hackensack 20 years in state prison in exchange for his guilty plea to repeatedly raping a Moonachie girl over several years, beginning when she was 10.

Investigators from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Special Victims Unit arrested Luis Remache 25, in March after the girl’s father went to Moonachie police.

A grand jury indicted him in August on charges of aggravated sexual assault and impairing the morals of a child.

The assaults began in September 2009, when the 5-foot-2-inch, 125-pound Remache began molesting the girl, and continued with intercourse until a year ago, the indictment alleges.

Assistant Bergen County Prosecutor Marybel Mercado Ramirez yesterday offered Remache a plea deal of 10 years each on two rape charges — one for before she turned 13 and one for after, she said — as a large contingent of his family members and friends looked on in the Hackensack courtroom.

Remache is also charged with touching the girl’s vagina, both over and under her clothes, before and after she was 13; masturbating in front of her when she was less than 13; and doing both after she turned 13.

Remache, who remained held on $300,000 bail today in the Bergen County Jail, will be deported once his legal obligations are completed.

Federal authorities also issued a detainer to keep him in custody should he make bail.
