The four-door, grey 2012 Infiniti crashed and rolled over the guardrail just after 3 p.m. at mile marker 169.7, NJSP Stephen Jones told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.
Southbound traffic stopped almost immediately as Montvale firefighters and EMS responded, backed by emergency responders from Woodcliff Lake.
Although a medical helicopter responded, landing on the Parkway, the victim had to be taken by Tri-Boro Ambulance to Hackensack University Medical Center due to the nature and extent of his injuries.
The NJSP fatal accident and crime scene units also responded, Jones said.
The right lane was reopened at 4:19 p.m. he said.
