Glen Rock High School wrestlers in sex abuse of younger kids

The behavior of two Glen Rock High School wrestlers accused today of sexually abusing three of their middle school counterparts during an unsupervised joint practice “was more than typical hazing or bullying,” a source with direct knowledge of the incident told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

Glen Rock Police Chief Frederick P. Stahman issued a brief statement, saying that juvenile delinquency complaints signed today against the two freshmen that would be the equivalent of aggravated sexual contact and lewdness charges if they were adults.

District officials began looking into the incident on Jan. 24, Stahman wrote.

He did not elaborate.

The accused boys, both in the mid-teens, are due in Family Court in Hackensack tomorrow morning. Because they are juveniles, the proceedings will be closed to the general public.

School administrators are waiting for police to complete their end of the investigation before determining why the older wrestlers were left unsupervised with the 11-year-olds for 20 minutes during a joint practice at the middle school, CLIFFVIEW PILOT has learned.
