Blair N. Steeley, 24, admitted that she warned Akeem “Light” Boone that police were looking for him after finding a 9mm Glock semi-automatic handgun, another weapon that had been stolen, and more than half-ounce of cocaine during a raid of the Johnson Avenue apartment that the two shared in September, 2012 .
That enabled Boone to lay low for several weeks before he was caught, Assistant Bergen County Prosecutor Pia Shepard said.
Steeley, who shares a child with Boone, accepted the plea as part of a package deal: Last week, Boone agreed to an eight-year prison sentence on drug and weapons charges, to be served at the same time as a four-year stretch for his role in the theft of a 600-pound safe in Greenwich, Connecticut.
A task force caught Boone and several others trying to crack the safe in an Englewood garage.
Superior Court Judge John A. Conte set Steeley’s sentencing for April 25. Boone will be sentenced March 28, now that a judge has approved Steeley’s end of the arrangement.
The two are possibly also done as a couple: While waiting for his plea hearing to begin last Wednesday in Hackensack, Steeley told Boone’s lawyer that she’s through with him.
It’s “been too much,” she said.
