Nicholas Damico hid himself because he’d discovered the ex was outside the woman’s Central Avenue house and was “looking to see who[m] she was now dating,” Lodi Police Capt. Donald Scorzetti told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

The ex-boyfriend found him just after 3 p.m., struggled with Damico and was stabbed, Scorzetti said.

“The girlfriend pulled the knife from [Damico] and cut herself on her right forearm,” he said.

Both victims were taken to Hackensack University Medical Center. The extent of their injuries wasn’t immediately known, Scorzetti said.

A pair of Lodi detectives found Damico walking in the area of a Burger King on Washington Street.

He “still had blood on him,” Scorzetti said.

Damico was ordered held on $15,000 bail, charged with aggravated assault and illegal weapons possession.
