The 49-year-old victim was having trouble seeing out of her right eye and had severe bruises on the side of her head after the 1:50 a.m. assault, Hackensack Police Director Michael Mordaga told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

She was sitting in a lawn chair outside 163 Central Avenue when she got into an argument with Larry Duiguid, 40, who lives up the block, Mordaga said.

The unemployed Duiguid took off but was arrested a short time later by Officer Nart Marza, he said.

Finding him wasn’t difficult, Mordaga said: The 6-foot-3-inch, 280-pound Duiguid has an extensive criminal history, records show.

He also has several tattoos, including one of Jesus Christ on his right arm.

Duiguid was released from the Bergen County Jail in early May after being arrested in a massive drug sweep that netted more than 160 defendants.
