A jury convicted Palma in April of swiping the money, failing to pay taxes on the additional income and filing false tax returns.
Palma took the brunt of what Bergen County prosecutors said had been a conspiracy to defraud taxpayers. Palma, a borough employee for nearly a quarter-century, was suspended two years ago after being charged.
