Adarsh Dalal, the father of Aaakash Dala, told India-West that he believed his son’s civil rights were being violated.
He also “denied that his son was in any way involved in the case,” and that the 21-year-old defendant was in New Hampshire working on Ron Paul’s presidential bid (see photo) when the bombings occurred.

What’s more, the father said, media reports that said the man charged with carrying out the bombings under the younger Dalal’s instruction, Anthony Marco Graziano, was a childhood friend of his son’s.
He also said there’s no proof in his son’s passport that he traveled to North Korea and Yemen for terrorism training, as authorities have alleged.
Aakash Dalal had his bail reduced to $1 million after a New Jersey appeals court found the original $2.5 million excessive.
That amount was boosted to $4 million after he was charged with planning to kill, among others, a judge and an assistant Bergen County prosecutor. His father said he’s remained in solitary for 21 hours of every day since his March 2, 2012 arrest.
The elder Dalal and an Indian community leader said they will push for a speedy trial.
Given the complexity of the case, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said it won’t be starting anytime soon.
