Officer Anthony Burgos and the driver of the other vehicle, a Toyota Prius from Jack Daniels Motors in Fair Lawn, were taken to area hospitals with injuries that Sgt. Timothy O’Shaughnessy weren’t life-threatening.

Burgos went to Hackensack University Medical Center and the other driver was taken to the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood.

The crash occurred at Morlot Avenue and Plaza Road just before 7:30 p.m., as Burgos was headed to a domestic violence call, the sergeant said.

Burgos, a former Paterson police officer, joined the Fair Lawn department last September.
