Detectives from Maywood arrested 31-year-old Kye M. Giacalone of Lodi on Friday and charged her with several counts of theft.

Giacalone worked in the admissions office of the Maple Glenn Nursing Home, where she befriended the victim, Maywood Detective Sgt. Mark Gillies said.

After getting power of attorney, she began opening credit cards under the victim’s name that she used for herself, he said.

Giacalone continued the thefts ever after the resident moved to another nursing home, Gillies said.

A family friend noticed the money missing and contacted police.

Giacalone was released on $20,000 bail Friday night pending a hearing in Maywood Municipal Court.
