Extra innings for Paramus, Rochelle Park police in Special Olympics charity softball game

SHOUT OUT: Paramus police jumped out to a big lead, but Rochelle Park police came back to win, 12-11, in extra innings in a charity softball game yesterday to benefit Special Olympics New Jersey.

A barbecue at Houghton Hall followed the game at Carlock Field, which drew more than $1,000 in donations from officers, Paramus PBA Local 186, the Rochelle Park Community Affairs Fund, spectators and others.

“Plans are under way to make the game an annual affair,” Rochelle Park Detective Jim DePreta said this morning.
