ALERT (7:45 p.m.): Rt. 46 reopened near tragic scene.

Suits was struck by a vehicle driven by John Passarella, 51, of
Hasbrouck Heights, who “sto

“As of this time it does not appear as though criminal charges will be filed,” the chief said, adding that Passarella was brought to the hospital, as well, after being shaken up by the crash.

New Jersey State Police closed the highway so that local and county investigators could determine what happened. County police kept a stretch of the roadway closed.

McGuire told CLIFFVIEW PILOT that a joint investigation is underway involving the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office’s Fatal Accident Unit and his detectives.
