Meanwhile, her daughter was being held in the Bergen County Juvenile Detention Center on a juvenile complaint of attempted murder, aggravated assault and weapons possession counts.

The mother, 53-year-old Tarita Mitchell of Rockcreek Terrace was being held on $82,500 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated assault, two illegal weapons counts and child endangerment, Police Chief Lawrence Suffern said.

The fight broke out just after 11 a.m yesterday on Katherine Street near Tryon Avenue, suffern said.

One of the girls had been slashed on the back with a box cutter and was bleeing “fairly actively” from the neck, the chief said. She was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center.

Juvenile complaints of attempted murder and two counts each of aggravated assault and illegal weapons possession were signed against the teen who cut her. That girl, who Suffern said was also injured, was taken to Englewood Hospital and Medical Center.

Both weapons were recovered, the chief said.

“This investigation is ongoing and additional charges may follow,” he added.
