Pablo Gomez-Sanchez, 45, was arraigned in a Hackensack courtroom today on various sexual assault and morals impairment charges.

Assistant Bergen County Prosecutor Marybel Mercado-Ramirez offered Gomez-Sanchez five years each on two counts of criminal sexual assault in exchange for dropping the remaining charges.

If he refuses, he could be sentenced to significantly more time for a conviction at a trial.

Gomez-Sanchez pleaded not guilty through his lawyer.

An indictment returned by a grand jury in Hackensack in February accuses him of touching the younger girl’s breasts and vagina “more than once” beginning in 2010, when she was six, while also forcing her to touch him.

Englewood police and members of Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli’s Special Victims Unit arrested Gomez-Sanchez in February of last year. Molinelli at the time said they quickly discovered alleged incidents involving the older girl, as well, that she said occurred beginning in June 2009, when she was 15.

Gomez-Sanchez remained held on $200,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail.

The charges:

  • four second-degree counts of criminal sexual contact, or illegal touching, of the 8-year old;
  • two fourth-degree counts of sexually assaulting the older girl when she was 15–17 involving the use of force or coercion;
  • two third-degree counts of impairing or debauching the morals of children.
