“I’m finding the attorney/client relationship between you has been irretrievably broken down,” Superior Court Judge Frances M. McGrogan told Rameesh Dula.

Dula, 31, who’s accused in both a 2013 burglary in Tenafly and what became a police chase from Englewood to Paramus last year, denied threatening anyone.

“We had a little disagreement,” he told the judge. “I don’t feel like he’s been doing what he said he was going to do for me.

“As far as saying I made a threat against him, I never made any threat — never, even under my breath to myself,” Dula said. “. I never said anything coming in here. I just let him and the prosecutor talk.”

Defense attorney Landry Belizaire told McGrogan he “wants to obtain new counsel” for Dula.

Dula was to have been sentenced on two indictments.

One accuses him of interfering with one officer who was arresting him and threatening another, as well as eluding and having both a folding knife and box cutter.

The other charges him with breaking into a Tenafly home Nov. 26, 2013.

A third indictment was pending.

Police said Dula was involved with thefts of copper piping from abandoned houses that turned into a polce chase from Englewood to Paramus involving his alleged accomplice. Dula bailed from the SUV while Marquiz Z. Holloman kept going, they said.

The SUV struck one police vehicle on Route 17 before the front of an unmarked cruiser collided with its rear quarter-panel, sending it into a spin and leaving it nearly perpendicular across the road.

Holloman tried to run but was cornered by police in a nearby parking lot after he ran across Route 17 and back again, witnesses told CLIFFVIEW PILOT at the time.

The judge set an Aug. 7 sentencing yesterday so that Dula has time to obtain a new attorney from the public defender’s office.
