Michael Digiorgio of Hasbrouck Heights was charged with DWI, careless driving and riding without a license after the Saturday evening crash at Fourth and Fritsch streets, Wood-Ridge Police Chief Joseph Rutigliano told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

Police determined that Digiorgio, 37, “was driving erratically” when his motorcycle hit an SUV coming the other way just after 7 p.m., the chief said.

Both Digiorgio and his girlfriend, who was riding on the back of the bike, were taken to Hackensack Medical Center for treatment of their injuries.

Digiorgio was given a court date to appear and was released.
