Four cars were involved in the Saturday afternoon crash on Broadway at Zink Place, Sgt. Brian Metzler said this morning.
A 56-year-old New Milford man driving one of the cars was taken by ambulance to,Hackensack University Medical Center with a back injury, Metzler said.
Responding Officers Stephen Buskiewicz, Michael Franco, Luke Hintzen and Louis Evangelista found 50-year-old Suzanne Flanagan of Hawthorne out cold when they arrived, the sergeant said.
“Once she woke up, she began to scream obscenities at the officers and, after being removed from her vehicle, attempted to walk away,” Metzler said.
They tried stopping her and she began fighting them off, he said.
At that point, she had to be restrained on a stretcher but kept kicking and spitting, Metzler said.
After being evaluated at Bergen Regional Medical Center in Paramus, Flanagan was taken to the Bergen County Jail, where she remained held on $50,000 bail.
She is charged with two counts of aggravated assault on a police officer, two counts of throwing body fluids at a police officer, aggravated assault on an EMT, assault by auto, resisting arrest, reckless driving, careless driving, DWI and two counts of failing to produce documents.
