Concetta Palmieri, 64, of Moonachie, and her daughter, Michelle Brattoli, 40, of Little Ferry, were hospitalized at Hackensack University Medical Center with “serious but non-life-threatening injuries, including internal bleeding and numerous fractures,” Molinelli said.

The girl wasn’t seriously injured, he said.

“We are sore and bruised but glad to be alive,” Brattoli told friends yesterday. “Mom is hurting but will make a full recovery.”

Esaian Vazgen, meanwhile, was hospitalized at HUMC in the custody of Bergen County Sheriff’s officers.

A blood sample was taken and sent to the New Jersey State Police Laboratory for testing, Moilnelli said.

Michelle Brattoli was legally parked on Moonachie Road, dropping off her daughter just before 5:30 p.m. Thursday, when a 2005 Lincoln Town Car driven by Vazgen failed to negotiate a bend in Moonachie Road, careened onto the sidewalk and hit both Brattoli’s car and Palmieri, who was standing outside the passenger side, the prosecutor said.

Vazgen, who turned 29 the day of the crash, was charged with three counts of assault by auto and one of drunken driving.

He also was charged with drug possession and issued summonses for DWI, reckless driving, having drugs in a motor vehicle and driving on the sidewalk.

Bail is $150,000, with a June 18 initial court appearance.
