Driver hospitalized in Paramus utility pole crash on southbound Route 17

ONLY ON CVP: A driver was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center after his sedan severed a utility pole and rolled over this morning on southbound Route 17 in Paramus.

The right shoulder and two travel lanes were closed while the four-door Toyota Corolla was removed by flatbed tow truck following the 10 a.m. crash near Route 4.

PSE&G crews worked to replace the pole and restore power to the nearby Porcelanosa kitchen and bath showroom.

Paramus police, Volunteer Ambulance Corp and Fire Department Companies 2 and 4 responded.

NJDOT crews assisted in blocking traffic lanes.
