Alan J DeRosa, 45, of East Rutherford, and 20-year-old Christopher J. Griffin of Carlstadt are both charged with theft.

East Rutherford police got the tip and notified investigators from Molinelli’s office. Together, they found that DeRosa and Griffin removed a door, hood and fender from a borough vehicle “and used the parts on Griffins’s personal vehicle,” the prosecutor said, adding that the parts were worth from $400 to $500.

Both have first appearances scheduled Wednesday morning in Central Municipal Court in Hackensack.
