Detectives from Molinelli’s Special Victims Unit and Elmwood Park police went to First Street home of 45-year-old Emiliano Seda yesterday afternoon after interviewing the girl, the prosecutor said.

“After repeated attempts at the door failed to get a response, officers looked through various windows to see if anyone was in the residence,” Molinelli said. “Upon doing so, they observed the motionless body of Emiliano Seda on the bathroom floor.

“They forced entry into the house and discovered that Seda, who was aware of the fact that the victim had notified police, had attempted to take his own life,” the prosecutor said. “Aid was immediately rendered and he was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center.

“Once there he was stabilized and later charged.”

Seda, who is single and works at The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, was then transferred to the Bergen County Jail, where he was being held on $300,000 bail, charged with aggravated sexual assault and child endangerment.
