Deportation will follow prison stretch for West African native in East Rutherford home invasion robbery

ONLY ON CVP: A native of the Ivory Coast living in Paterson who was sentenced today for his role in an October 2013 East Rutherford home invasion robbery could be freed from prison in under three years — but that’s only to be deported, a judge in Hackensack said.

Addis Aka, 24, pleaded guilty in February in exchange for a five-year prison term, of which he’d have to serve at least four years and three months before being eligible for parole.

Aka, who has an extensive criminal record, is already serving a five-year term, begun earlier this month, for a Passaic drug and handgun possession conviction.

Both sentences will run at the same time, under his plea deal.

He spent 530 days in the Bergen County Jail after his East Rutherford arrest — nearly a year and a half — which will be deducted from his sentence in the home invasion.

Aka took his plea in that case after co-defendant Ashley Lozano, 24, agreed to testify against him.

In doing so, he avoided a potential 10-year prison sentence had he been convicted at a trial of robbing the victim of money to buy drugs.

Lozano was sentenced to five years probation for conspiracy in April and entered drug court.

Police arrested her shortly after the holdup and then Aka.

Aka posted bail but was arrested again two months later on heroin distribution charges in Passaic, where authorities said they seized 420 folds, a stolen Glock .40-caliber handgun and $1,057 in cash from him and his girlfriend’s Mill Street apartment.

Aka jumped out a window and tried to run but was quickly caught, they said.
