Eric Sicard, 36, was brought to Hackensack University Medical Center after Bergen County police took him into custody, a law enforcement official told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.
He was later brought to the Bergen County Jail, where he was being held on $25,000 bail.
The chase began after a county police officer pulled over Sicard’s 2003 BMW 530 with Massachusetts license plates at a westbound Route 46 gas station and he took off.
It ended around 10:15 p.m. when Sicard turned into the Targeteers Sporting Goods parking lot and the car jumped a brick retaining wall, the official said.
The BCPD charged him with aggravated assault on a police officer, eluding and obstruction and issued him a dozen summonses, one of them for DWI. A judge set bail at $25,000.
Sicard — who records show is facing prosecution in Carteret, Little Ferry and Stafford Township — was also charged in October with hitting the Hasbrouck Heights police officer in the face outside a local Dunkin Donuts in October. He’s also facing a parole violation in New York City.
He was released last month on $15,000 bail after eight weeks in the Bergen County Jail.
