The cyclist was headed south near the Route 4 interchange just before 9 a.m. when traffic came to a sudden stop and his black 2005 Suzuki rear-ended a Honda van, Deputy Police Chief Robert Guidetti told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

He was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with facial cuts and the possible broken nose, the deputy chief said.

The motorcycle was towed from the scene. The van sustained some rear bumper damage.

Construction has slowed traffic through Paramus to stop-and-go since early morning.
