Floyd William “Pee Wee” Gaines, 42, will be held on $25,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief, after he is processed at Maywood Police Headquarters.

Police said Gaines reached into the car and took a GPS device after breaking the window with a rock.

Gaines has a Bergen County rap sheet that stretches back at least to a shoplifting arrest in October 2004, involving theft, assault, resisting arrest, aggravated assault on a police officer and various motor vehicle offenses.

Most ended in probation, but two others put Gaines in state prison for nearly a year before he was released in August 2009.

Hackensack police arrested the 5-foot-5 Gaines on a warrant obtained yesterday after the match was made.
