Molinell said his Confidential Investigations Unit investigated and found that McKinney — who is serving his sentence in state prison in Trenton — sent the anonymous letter, which the incident returned by a grand jury in Hackensack said made false allegations of abuse against Assistant Bergen County Prosecutor David Calviello.

After being sentenced in late July to what essentially is life plus 24 years (with no opportunity for parole until 2067), McKinney shouted at Superior Court Judge James J. Guida:

“You and Mr. [Assistant Bergen County Prosecutor David] Calviello are going to federal prison.”

“I’m Trayvon Martin! I’m Trayvon Martin!” he yelled, before Bergen County Sheriff’s officers shackled McKinney and escorted him out of the courtroom and back to jail.

A conviction on the indictment carries a sentence of up to 18 months, Molinelli said.
