Child sex charges against Lodi man outlined in indictment

ONLY ON CVP: A 55-year-old Lodi man sexually assaulted a girl orally and digitally over the course of two years, beginning when she was 8, an indictment returned by a grand jury in Hackensack alleges.

The five-count indictment also accuses Joseph Manfredi of child endangerment.

Special Victims Unit detectives arrested Manfredi last May after interviewing the girl, who’s now a teenager, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said at the time.

She had told a Lodi High School guidance counselor who, in turn, alerted Lodi police, he said.

Manfredi, who is single and unemployed, remained held on $150,000 bail in the Bergen County.
