Roughly $2,065,000 was raised during a capital campaign to fund the purchase and renovation of the new Rochelle Park building, consolidating all non-emergency services in one location for the 39-year-old agency — which changed its name last fall from Shelter Our Sisters “to reflect the growing array of both emergency and non-emergency services it offers to local families.”

“The co-chairs want to thank all the people that supported the capital campaign,” said Allen, who was a past president of the Center for Hope and Safety Board for five years and currently serves on the board of the National Association of Corporate Directors New Jersey (NACDNJ).

“The new building will act as a launching pad for the future success of the agency,” she said.

The facility focuses “not only on providing shelter in the moment of crisis but also offering support and guidance to help people lead independent, vibrant, self-confident lives, free of violence and the fear of violence.”

Its primary functions include a creative arts therapy program, an outreach office, and the administration headquarters.
